Art History Research on Dennis Oppenheim

A class I enjoyed taking at St. Thomas was Art History. It included a lot of research about different artists, some from hundreds of years ago and some from fairly recent. Our research often included familiarizing ourselves with the historical context of the person or place we were studying. From this, I learned a lot about different cultures and the art that reflects their experiences. In one of these projects, myself and a partner studied the life and work of Dennis Oppenheim.

Relevance to Capstone

I believe this project helped me develop some important skills to use in Capstone. It involved a lot of individual research and having to find credible sources to use. Additonally, it required work with a partner I had not worked with before. We had to both work together on a topic neither of us was very familiar with and learn how to incorporate our findings together. I have done this a lot so far in Capstone, so I believe it is relevant to the course.
